ITUS International Cooperation

   ITUS is the only organization of servicemen in Russia which has been a full rights member of European Organization of Military Unions ( EUROMIL ) since the moment of its official adoption in October 1994. In its turn EUROMIL has the observer Status in Europarliament and European Council, which allows ITUS to raise its problems at the highest European level.

   EUROMIL unites about 30 unions of servicemen from 26 European countries. On May 21 - 25 1997 25th meeting of EUROMIL Presidium and Executive Board took place in Moscow.

   ITUS is an observer in the European organization of state and public services ( EUROFEDOP) in Council of workers in the Defence sphere.    By-lateral contacts successfully develop with international and foreign organizations of servicemen and trade unions of workers of defence industries    ITUS regularly participates at international conferences on social problems of servicemen.    Besides European organizations ITUS has contacts with military unions of Lebanon, Australia, USA and others.    Together with DBWV ITUS cooperates un training of Russian servicemen for civil professions.

   ITUS International department has regular contacts with military attaches of foreign countries, stationed in Moscow.    Trade union was one of the authors of international program for social adaptation of servicemen and citizens discharged from military service.    On the initiative of ITUS CC on April 10, 1998 International association of professional unions of servicemen was founded in Moscow. Its main aim is to increase integration processes in the former USSR Republics, defence of social rights of servicemen, who served in the USSR Armed Forces as well as those who serve now in the Armed Forces of the states, former USSR Republics.
